    The First Tee-Greater Chicago Golf Programs

    "Our mission is to impact the lives of young people by providing education programs that build character, instill life-enhancing values, and promote healthy choices through the game of golf."

    The First Tee is a youth development initiative of the World Golf Foundation and is supported by the leading organizations in golf including the Masters Tournament, LPGA, PGA of America, PGA TOUR and United States Golf Association. There are nearly 200 chapters of The First Tee located throughout the country and in five international locations. The First Tee of Greater Chicago chapter is a charitable foundation dedicated to teaching the golf and life skills curriculum to young people.

    The First Tee of Greater Chicago strives to instill in participants The First Tee Nine Core Values - honesty, integrity, sportsmanship, respect, confidence, responsibility, perseverance, courtesy, and judgment. Young people who become members of The First Tee of Greater Chicago enjoy a variety of opportunities to learn life skills that can help them grow as individuals and prepare for the future.

  • Lemont Park District

    Lemont Park District Junior Golf Programs

    The Lemont Park District and Cog Hill will again partner in a strong program to promote junior golf. This program will include instruction by PGA Professionals Carol Rhoades and Trey VanDyke along with Cog Hill Golf Club teaching staff. The program will cover the fundamentals of golf including long game, short game, and etiquette. Non-residents are welcome and follow the same fee schedule.

    2020 Junior Golf Lessons

    Location: Cog Hill Driving Range
    Lead Instructor: Trey Van Dyke, PGA & Carol Rhoades, PGA
    Ages: 7-12 years
    Max: 20 per class

    Session 1 (Tuesdays and Thursdays)
    Class 1: June 9 - 25 (9am - 10am)
    Class 2: June 9 - 25 (10am -11am)

    Session 2 (Tuesdays and Thursdays)
    Class 1: July 7 - 23 (9am-10am)
    Class 2: July 7 - 23 (10am -11am)

    Fee: $108 (Resident & Non-Resident)

    *Please bring a 7-iron to the first class at Cog Hill's driving range. Cog Hill will provide clubs and complimentary golf balls for each student in the camp. Sandals and flip flops are not recommended.

    **No rain outs due to overhead shelters and no make-up dates. Parents are not allowed to sit in on lessons.

    PGA Junior Golf Camps

    Help your child discover the game of a lifetime this summer by attending a PGA Junior Golf Camp at COG HILL GOLF & COUNTRY CLUB. PGA Junior Golf Camps will foster your child’s love for golf whether they want to pick up a new skill or compete in tournament play. We teach golf’s traditions. We teach its techniques. We just make it fun and do it in a way that lets kids be kids!

    Camp Highlights:

    • Learn from the best. Every camp is lead by a certified PGA of America Professional who knows how to balance both fun and skill development.

    • Fun, safe and educational. Full of action, discipline, and integrity, each camp has been designed to help your child grow both on and off the golf course.

    • From tee to green. Campers learn every aspect of the game, including instruction on the full swing, short game, rules of the game and golf etiquette.

    • A lifetime of learning. Our curriculum, developed in by the PGA of America, encourages skill progression by coupling instruction with games and play opportunities.

    • Camps that work for you. No matter your child’s ability, we’ve got a camp for them. We offer a variety of camp programs featuring small group instruction, course play (full day camps) and a low teacher to student ratio.
