The private lesson area, located behind our historical barn, includes an 8,000 sq.ft. putting green, an approach green with numerous bunker options, and a green dedicated to chipping. Summer lessons are offered on bent grass and blue grass turf surfaces. Winter lessons are offered under our covered hitting areas that consists of 42 heated hitting bays.

Kevin Weeks has more than 30 years of experience as a golf instructor, and has had one of the most decorated teaching careers in the Chicagoland area. Kevin is ranked as one of Golf Digest's 50 Best Teachers and Golf Magazine's Top 100 Instructors, and he is Golf Digest's No. 1 teacher in the state of Illinois. A three-time Illinois PGA Teacher of the Year, Kevin has had success with players ranging from the PGA Tour to junior golf. Since 2006, he has worked with nearly 100 PGA Tour players—including 10 tournament winners—and more than 200 of his junior students have gone on to play college golf with 12 achieving All-American status. Kevin's PGA Junior League team has advanced to the national finals five times, more than any other national coach, and his high school students have won numerous individual state championships.
Kevin's passion for the game goes beyond teaching and coaching. Using his state-of-the-art studio at Cog Hill, Kevin has become of the most prominent researchers into the science of game, using 3D measurement technology and force plates to collect data and study both the full swing and the short game. He also invented and patented the Dynamic Impact Indicator, a putting improvement device. Kevin's in-depth understanding of biomechanics and golf motion blends with his coaching skill to help Kevin customize a lesson program for each student's requirements. Cog Hill is also one of two places in the Chicago Area where you can get a GEARS 3D Golf lesson.

Jeff Rimsnider, PGA

Jeff was the Head Golf Professional at Cog Hill for 25 years (1991-2014). Starting in 2015, Jeff transitioned to a full-time Teaching Professional. This has enabled him to be more flexible to his family and his students. He brings a simple, unique style of teaching that focuses on the student’s abilities, rather than a particular method. Jeff adapts this style to a wide range of golfing abilities. He is well known and respected among his colleagues, as well as his students for his friendly personality, professional manner, and positive energy.
Jeff’s main objectives are to increase your skills as a golfer, ensure the enjoyment of the game, and build a long term relationship. He teaches seasonally Tuesdays through Fridays 9am - 6pm, and some Saturdays.

Private Group Lessons: Junior/Adults
If you are looking to have a few friends or your juniors work on their game, Group Lessons are the way to go. You can put together your own private group and can set the days and times that work best for your schedule. I recommend starting with a minimum of 4 hours of lessons. This time (4 total hours) can be broken down into “4” one hour sessions or however you would prefer. You can make it your own private golf school if you like. Please speak directly with Louise and you can discuss the best scenario that works for your group. Contact information is below.

Playing Lessons are available for Juniors, Adults and for Groups. Please contact Louise directly for scheduling for she must check and schedule with the golf course. Cog HIll hosts many outings so she needs more than 48 hours notice to do so.
Louise will be offering small group Adult Classes which will be a total of 4.5 hours of instruction. Classes will be offered to different skill levels from beginners, intermediate and advanced golfers and will be over a 3 week period. Classes will be an hour and a half in length for each session and will cover various areas of instruction. Be sure and look for these classes on her Online Scheduler. (See link below)
Louise is a PGA/LPGA Member with over 25 years of teaching experience. She has been teaching at Cog Hill for the past 20 years and has been voted one of the Best Instructors in Illinois by Golf Digest since 2005 and is the #1 ranked Female Instructor in Illinois. Currently she is ranked #11 overall in the State by Golf Digest Magazine(2022-2023).
She is a US Kids Golf Certified Instructor and has worked with 3 -Time Illinois Teacher of the Year and Top 50 Instructors in the USA, Kevin Weeks, Jim Suttie, and several other Top 100 Raked Teaching Professionals. Louise is a graduate of the University of Mississippi where she played collegiate basketball and golf. She is a former LPGA Mini Tour Touring Professional.
Louise welcomes players ages 3 and up to her lesson tee and works with beginner golfers all the way up to professional golfers. With Cog Hill’s fantastic practice areas, she can work on any aspect of your game that you may be struggling with and can provide you with the drill work and practice regimen necessary to make improvements.

Trey Van Dyke, PGA

Trey is a Class A PGA Golf Professional with 30+ years of teaching experience. In 2016 he joined Cog Hill Golf & Country Club after having spent 25 years as the Head Golf Professional of Oak Brook Golf Club and 4 years as an Associate Golf Professional at Butler National Golf Club. Trey has taught golfers of all abilities and ages in many settings including individual lessons, group lessons, clinics, golf schools, and team coaching.
Trey’s coaching has helped a wide variety of students. The range of that help has been from holding a club for the first time to preparing for a national championship. He looks forward to working with you to fix your faults, develop your improvement plan, and share in your successes. To aid in the learning process, Trey uses V1 golf HD video analysis software.
Trey has actively supported the growth of golf and spreading the values the game develops by serving many local organizations. Most notably he has served as Vice President of The First Tee of Greater Chicago (2007 – 2012), President of the Illinois PGA Section (2008 – 2010) and President of the Illinois PGA Foundation (2010 – 2015). He currently serves at the national level as Chair of PGA Membership Committee.

Ryan has over 20 years of experience teaching players of all abilities from beginners to PGA tour professionals (Joe Durant, Jerry Pate). He has taught alongside 7 of the current Golf Digest Top 100 instructors and was a staff member of the Golf Digest Schools. In 2017, Ryan was awarded as GOLFTEC National Teacher of the Year, the most prestigious award given by the company.
Ryan was a Top 5 instructor in the State of Louisiana by Golf Digest Magazine. He has had multiple students qualify for the US Kids World Championships in Pinehurst both finishing in the Top 40.
Ryan is available for lessons 7 days a week.
Ryan is also a Master Certified Club Fitter and Builder having managed Club Champion in New Orleans L.A.

Born and raised in Texas, Clayton attended Sam Houston State University, where he studied Business Administration and Professional Golf Management. After PGA internships in Texas, Missouri, and Virginia at some of the top clubs in the nation, Clayton knew golf instruction was his passion. One of Clatyon's mentors, Leighann Albaugh, urged him to seek out and learn under Cog Hill's Director of Instruction Kevin Weeks. After serving a final internship, Clayton is now in his fifth year at Cog Hill and assists Kevin Weeks' PGA Junior League team and instructs in one of the strongest junior golf programs in the United States.
